Sequential treatment: surgery Radium and cervical cancer stage I and II

The authors present their experience with the sequential treatment: Radium and Surgery in 10 cases of cervical cancer in stages I and II. Histopathological studies have shown no residual tumor or lymph node metastases. Morbidity, especially urinary (fistulas), is exactly the same as when surgery alone is used. At present the 10 cases are alive without evidence of disease. Conduct with the possibility of obtaining better results is recommended.
Los autores presentan su experiencia con el tratamiento secuencial: Radium y Cirugía en 10 casos de cáncer de cuello uterino en estadíos I y II. Los estudios histopatológicos no han demostrado neoplasia residual ni metástasis ganglionares. La morbilidad, en especial la urinaria (fístulas), es exactamente la misma que cuando se utiliza la cirugía sola. Al presente los 10 casos están vivos y sin evidencia de enfermedad. Se recomienda la conducta con la posibilidad de obtener mejores resultados.
