The authors have studied the interrelation between toxemia of pregnancy and the nutritional state of the patients; the overall incidence in 2523 women was 16.2% but in patients with subnormal ingestion of proteins the incidence was significantly higher than in women with adequate diet. The possible rol of the maternal nutrition in the etiology of the toxemia of pregnancy is discussed.
Los autores han estudiado la interrelación entre la toxemia del embarazo y el estado nutricional de los pacientes; la incidencia global en 2.523 mujeres fue 16,2%, pero en pacientes con la ingestión de proteínas subnormal la incidencia era significativamente mayor que en las mujeres con dieta adecuada. Se discute el posible rol de la nutrición materna en la etiología de la toxemia del embarazo.
