About 80% were primiparous and secundigestas. 54.4% were to term pregnancies and in the same proportion, the myomas were diagnosed preoperatively. The treatment is essentially surgical and according to the reproductive function. Myomectomy was performed in 72%; in 3 cases not made, laparotomy was subsequently performed in 2 patients, 1 uterine hypotonia and over by degeneration and tumor infection. 54% were unique fibroids: predominated of 2-10 cm. 72% were subserosal fibroids and 90.9% were found in the uterine body. Complications were by degeneration and puerperal infection and uterine hypotonia, so hysterectomy was performed in 2 cases. Nonoperative interventions for this cause was found during pregnancy. At 35.4%, the fibroids causing abnormal fetal presentations.Se estudió 11 historias clínicas de fibroleiomiomas en el estado grávido-puerperal que se presentaron en 9552 partos atendidos en el Servicio de Obstetricia del Hospital Central del Norte del I.P.S.S., entre enero de 1971 y diciembre de 1980. Se comprueba que su frecuencia es relativamente baja 0.11%. El promedio de edad de las pacientes fue de 36 años. Alrededor del 80% son primigestas y secundigestas. El 54.4% llegó a gestaciones a término y, en igual porcentaje, los miomas fueron diagnosticados preoperatoriamente. El tratamiento es esencialmente quirúrgico y de acuerdo a la función reproductiva. Se realizó miomectomía en el 72%; en 3 casos que no se realizó, se practicó posteriormente laparotomía en 2 casos, 1 por hipotonía uterina y otra por degeneración e infección tumoral. El 54% fueron miomas únicos: predominaron los de 2 a 10 cm. El 72% fueron miomas subserosos y el 90.9% se encontraron en el cuerpo uterino. Las complicaciones fueron por degeneración e infección puerperal e hipotonía uterina, por lo que se realizó histerectomía en 2 casos. No se encontró intervenciones operatorias por esta causa durante la gestación.
