Postpartum panhypopituitarism (Sheehan syndrome). Study of eleven cases

Panhypopituitarism eleven cases of ischemic necrosis caused by postpartum, in which a study of the thyroid, adrenal and gonadal functions is presented. Gingival bleeding profusely and repetition is described in 5 of the 11 cases studied, a fact not mentioned in the literature reviewed. It has compiled the relevant references, and emphasized that the syndrome Sheehan, is not a rare disease entity once observed.
Se presentaron once casos de Panhipopituitarismo originados por necrosis isquémica post parto, en los cuales se hace un estudio de las funciones tiroidea, adrenal y gonadal. Se describe sangrado gingival profuso y a repetición en 5 de los 11 casos estudiados, hecho no referido en la literatura revisada. Se ha recopilado las referencias bibliográficas pertinentes, y se enfatizó que el Síndrome de Sheehan, no constituye una entidad nosológica rara vez observada.
