The Convictorio of San Carlos from Lima, was an institution founded for the viceregal State in 1769 in substitution of the noted Jesuit noted school that closed after its expulsion in 1767. The time bigger celebrity and duration corresponded to the rectorado of Toribio Rodríguez of Mendoza who directed its cloisters during almost 30 years, until it presented its renouncement before the viceroy Joaquín of Pezuela, due mainly to the economic anguishing situation that happened to this educational institution before the Emancipation. The present article is focused in the «Statute for Convictorio» proposed by Jerónimo of Agüero, document that governed from 1829 to 1839. In this year it coincides with the arrival to the government of this House of Studies of Bartolomé Herrera who observed an ideological concrete address, giving new airs to the political conservative positions, group of influential ideas until ends of the century nineteen inclusive. El Convictorio de San Carlos de Lima, fue una institución fundada en 1769 por el Estado virreinal en reemplazo de los prestigiosos colegios jesuitas que se cerraron tras su expulsión en 1767. El tiempo de mayor celebridad y duración correspondió al rectorado de Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza, quien dirigió sus claustros durante casi 30 años, hasta que presentó su renuncia ante el virrey Joaquín de la Pezuela, debido principalmente a la angustiante situación económica que sucedió a esta institución educativa poco antes de la Emancipación. El presente artículo se enfoca en el «Estatuto para el Convictorio» propuesto por Jerónimo de Agüero, documento que rigió de 1829 a 1839. En dicho año coincide con la llegada al gobierno de dicha casa de estudios de Bartolomé Herrera, quien observó una dirección ideológica concreta, dando nuevos aires a las posiciones políticas conservadoras, conjunto de ideas influyentes hasta fines del siglo diecinueve inclusive. El texto es parte de la historia anterior a su llegada.
