After a tour offering us for his intense academic life developed between Europe and America, Gruzinsky raises the project of a global history, which includes aspects obviated for the history of the national states. The Spanish monarchy constitutes the first European globalization, where the Islam, the christianity and the idolatrous worships were interacting «to planetary scale and in a synchronous way». For this author, which is interested is to investigate the emergence of a world-conscience in the context of the globalization and its multiple transformations.
Luego de ofrecernos un recorrido por su intensa vida académica, desarrollada entre Europa y América, Gruzinski plantea el proyecto de una historia global, que abarque aspectos obviados por la historia de los estados nacionales. La monarquía española constituye la primera mundialización europea, donde el islam, el cristianismo y los cultos idolátricos interactuaban «a escala planetaria y de manera sincrónica». Para este autor, lo que interesa es investigar el surgimiento de una conciencia-mundo en el contexto de la mundialización y sus múltiples transformaciones.
