A SCIENCE FOR ALL? SOME REFLECTIONS ON THE SCIENCIE POPULARIZATION

The article proposes to undertake a reflection on the theme of the popularization of science, namely the need to bring science to large groups of citizen, in the broadest layers of society. As the present has already been made aware of the need for such dissemination of science and its direct impact on social development, you need to comment and discuss the most basic aspects of the subject as, for example, the nomenclature, that is, how to properly call the activity, because the name you provide will depend on the type of actions that are expected to perform the selection of the public to be taken into account, the contents to be taught, and so on. It is also necessary to reflect on how this diffusion has been developed over time, to have a historical perspective to some extent guide the development of actions. Finally, it is necessary to analyze the different strategies that can be used effectively in popularizing, taking into account our own characteristics and possibilities.
El artículo se propone llevar a cabo una reflexión acerca del tema de la popularización de la ciencia, es decir, de la necesidad de acercar la ciencia a los grandes colectivos ciudadanos, a las capas más amplias de la sociedad. Como en la actualidad ya se ha tomado conciencia de la necesidad de esa difusión científica y su incidencia directa en el desarrollo social, es necesario comentar y discutir acerca de los aspectos más básicos del tema como son, por ejemplo, la nomenclatura, o sea, cómo denominar adecuadamente a la actividad, porque del nombre que se le proporcione va a depender el tipo de acciones que se espera llevar a cabo, la selección de los públicos a ser tomados en cuenta, los contenidos a impartir, etc. Asimismo, es necesario reflexionar sobre cómo se ha desarrollado esa difusión a través del tiempo, para tener una perspectiva histórica que en alguna medida oriente el desarrollo de las acciones. Finalmente, es necesario analizar las diferentes estrategias que pueden ser utilizadas de manera efectiva en la popularización, teniendo en cuenta nuestras propias características y posibilidades.
