This article intends to address the problem of the testimony in the textDaughters of Kavillaca. Oral Tradition of the Women of Huarochirí. Besides,it questions the power of representation that the researchers bestow onthe informants. To pass a text from orality to writing always involves anact of manipulation and appropriation by part of the researcher. It is alsoa negotiation which reveals the struggles and tensions as a result of twodifferent cultures in contact. The text in question does not escape from theunderlying dynamics of the testimony. Therefore, we will do a review on thetensions that occurred during the process of compilation of testimonies andthe levels of representation granted to the informants. We believe that inspite of the good intentions of the researchers by providing a greater degree ofrepresentation this is buried when they assume all the editing process withoutthe participation of the informants.
Este artículo se propone abordar la problemática del testimonio en el textoHijas de Kavillaca. Tradición oral de mujeres de Huarochirí y cuestionar el poderde representación que las investigadoras otorgaron a las informantes. El pasarun texto emitido desde la oralidad a la escritura siempre implica un acto demanipulación y apropiación por parte del investigador. Asimismo, supone una* Parte de este artículo fue leído como una ponencia en el I Encuentro de JóvenesInvestigadores en Literatura negociación que revela las pugnas y tensiones, como producto del contactode dos culturas diferentes. El texto en cuestión no escapa a las dinámicassubyacentes del testimonio. Por eso, haremos una revisión sobre las tensionesque se produjeron durante el proceso de recopilación de los testimonios y losniveles de representación otorgado a las informantes. Consideramos que, muya pesar de las buenas intenciones de las investigadoras por brindarles un mayorgrado de representación, esta queda sepultada, cuando asumen todo el procesode edición sin contar con la participación de las informantes.
