POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF BANKRUPTCY: THE CASE OF CONSORCIO GRUPO DINA, S.A. DE C.V.

The aim of this study was to analyze the politics that led to the bankruptcy of DINA in 2000 and try to measure the economic impact of the same, to raise awareness of the impact the policy decisions detriment of the economic sectors that consequently no longer the engine of industrial development in a region. To analyze the political aspect this study was focused on industrial policy aspects of conducting a comparative analysis of the country’s industrial variables and the state of Hidalgo, as well as GDP, foreign investment and the trade balance. To measure the economic impact was considered necessary to make a comparative analysis of the items that make up municipal revenues. This research concludes that have not been able to count in Mexico with an industrial policy capable of promoting growth and attract foreign investments into the industry, bringing to stagnate because the income received by the states, so necessary for development, growth and improving the standard of living of the population. So it may be said based partion the trend of municipal revenue is adverse economic impact because it has not been able to achieve growth in revenue and that this stagnation is generated precisely by the stagnation in the industrial development of the state.
El objetivo de este trabajo consistió en analizar los aspectos políticos que determinaron la quiebra de la empresa DINA en el año 2000, así como intentar medir el impacto económico que tuvo la misma; para dar a conocer las repercusiones que tienen la toma de decisiones políticas en detrimento de los sectores económicos que por consecuencia dejan de ser el motor del desarrollo industrial de una región. Para analizar el aspecto Político este estudio se centro en aspectos de Política Industrial realizando un análisis comparativo de variables industriales del país y del estado de Hidalgo, así como el PIB4, la Inversión Extranjera y la Balanza Comercial. Para medir el Impacto Económico se considero necesario realizar un análisis comparativo de los rubros que conforman los ingresos municipales. Esta investigación concluye en que aún no se ha podido contar en México con una política industrial capaz de promover el crecimiento y atraer inversiones extranjeras hacia la industria, trayendo como consecuencia que se estanquen los ingresos que reciben los estados, tan necesarios para su desarrollo, crecimiento y mejora del nivel de vida de la población. Así también se puede decir con base en la tendencia de los ingresos municipales que el impacto económico es adverso dado que no se ha podido lograr un crecimiento en los ingresos públicos y que ese estancamiento es generado justamente por el estancamiento en el desarrollo industrial del Estado.
