OBJECTIVE: To determine the clinical utility of lactate clearance as an indicator of mortality prognosis in severe sepsis and septic shock in the Shock trauma Unit of the Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo Hospital, Chiclayo-Lambayeque, Peru.
