This article analyzes Lima's Stock Exchange through 33 securities in the 1980-1990 periods, using the Capital Asset Pricing model. It arrives to the following conclusions: a few securities were liquid assets; not always stock exchange was an attractive alternative; the dollar was one of the best securities; and, all efficient portfolios included low risk deposits, even if these offered a negative real return.

Small companies are successful to the extent that they know how to coordinate the factors that have a bearing on the achievement of their goals. By studying ten cases in depth, it was possible to establish that the overriding factors are the personal traits of the company´s founder, his operating values and availability of financial resources.

The Pacific University's Management Training Program (PEG), the aim of which is the creation of small businesses, has been implemented for nine years. This article is an attempt to describe and analyze various aspects of these companies' financial activities during the program's first six years (1986-1991). The article examines aspect to do with finance, liquidity and profitability in the businesses that have been set up, along with any direction changes they may have taken and how many are still operating. Finally a number of recommendations are made for improving the financial assessment of PEG businesses.

En este trabajo de investigación se determinara el bajo rendimiento y el mal funcionamiento actual, en el sistema hidráulico de la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales "Centro Sur A", ubicada en el distrito de Nuevo Chimbote, provincia del Santa, departamento de Ancash.
