This article examines César Vallejo’s Fabla salvaje, published in 1923, in the context of patriarchal civilisation in early twentiethcentury Peru. It explores the social and cultural background of the time, marked by peasant uprisings, indigenous movements, university activism and changing gender roles. The representation of masculinity and femininity in the novel is analysed, with special attention to the psychological conflict of the protagonist Balta and his projection of patriarchal cultural norms onto his wife Adelaida. It also questions the interpretation of Balta’s internal conflict as the result solely of personal psychological disturbances; and proposes an alternative perspective that sees it as a manifestation of entrenched cultural patterns of masculinity in the context of a neocolonial modernity. The article analyze the categories of contradictory totality and heterogeneity developed by Antonio Cornejo Polar, as well as other postulated categories from the Latin American sphere, to try to understand the dynamics of the globalization of the literary system, not as a linear process of homogenization,but as a process characterized by transculturation, multilingualism, multiculturalism, hybridity and heterogeneity, multiple reality crossed by complex ideological and intercultural conflicts, that is, not only by the coexistence in diversity, but by the conflictive character of this process. It also questions Franco Moretti’s concept of “world-system”, and Pascale Casanova’s approach to the World Republic of Letters, considering that both approaches fail to break with a perspective of Eurocentric analysis.

Euphony, that pleasing sonority that results from the correct combination of the acoustic elements of the words, is a decisive component of Moro's poetry and key in the choice of French as his language of writing. Thus, the paper will address three aspects of the problem of the use of language in César Moro's work. First, his definition as a bilingual writer of French-expression; Secondly, its adoption of French as part of a surrealist transnationalism; And, last, the characteristics of his Francophone intercultural hybridism that led him to build his own poetic and cultural diglossia.

Apuntes en voz alta es un conjunto de ensayos escritos por Yolanda Westphalen, la mayoría de los cuales fueron leídos en distintos coloquios y presentaciones de libros. El título reivindica esa fuente de oralidad, así como el carácter de borrador permanente de la lectura crítica, pero sobre todo, muestra que se trata de una voz que enuncia con firmeza su discurso, consciente de que se trata de un punto de vista emitido desde un lugar de enunciación específico.
