Non-Hodgkin lymphomas make up a group of malignant neoplasms of lymphoid origin, according to their corresponding cell line, as B or T cell lymphomas classified. Mostly, these entities come from B lymphocytes, being the most frequent diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). In the oral cavity, non-Hodgkin lymphomas have low incidence and their prognosis, clinical evolution and response to treatments, depend on the subtype presented. These malignancies can develop in soft tissues of the oral cavity or centrally in the jaws. We report an 80-year-old patient with an injury corresponding to large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the oral cavity, who has been treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, responding favorably to treatment. Likewise, in order to describe this infrequent type of lesions of the oral cavity and to assess the prognosis they have, a literature review was performed. It is ...

Ameloblastomas are the second most common odontogenic neoplasms, they are benign, however, they present an aggressive and locally infiltrative behavior, with a high recurrence rate; so its treatment is very controversial. We present the case of a 14-year-old male patient, with no relevant medical history, with increased volume in the posterior mandibular region left side, hard, with a color like the adjacent skin and painless on palpation. A puncture and an incisional biopsy were performed, obtaining as a histopathological result: mural unicystic ameloblastoma, which was treated conservatively with curettage and peripheral ostectomy, evolving favorably and rehabilitated with osseointegrated implants. Treatment modalities can be divided into radical and conservative. The technique to choose depends mainly on the type of ameloblastoma, followed by histology, its location, size and age of t...

Gorlin-Goltz syndrome or basal cell nevi syndrome is an ectodermal neoplasia of autosomal dominant inheritance. It is a multisystem disease with a prevalence of 1 case per 57 000 to 150 000 people. It predominates in patients between the second and third decade of life, with a predilection for the male sex., Iit’s characterized by the presence of multiple basal cell nevus carcinomas, development of odontogenic keratocystic and palmo-plantar pits or dimples and calcification of the falx brain. Odontogenic keratocysts (OKC) occur in more than 80% of cases of patients with Gorlin-Goltz syndrome (GGS). OKC can present as the first sign of GGS. Approximately 65% of cases affect the mandible, with high frequency in the molar and ramus region. A clinical case is presented of a 35-year-old male patient with a current condition of missing teeth. Physical examination revealed syndromic facies. O...

Objective. To report the oral manifestations associated with COVID-19 as well as whether these persist over a period of 3 months. Methods. A longitudinal, descriptive study was carried out evaluating 149 individuals positive for SARS-CoV-2 by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), who underwent an initial examination and a control 3 months later. Results. A total of 65% of the participants reported some manifestation in the oral cavity and 24% some sequelae. Within these observed symptoms and oral sequelae, the one with the highest incidence was dysgeusia, which was found in 51% of patients followed by xerostomia (27%), lymph nodes or swollen glands (17%). These manifestations decreased significantly during the follow-up, however they prevailed in some patients. Conclusions. Dysgeusia is the oral manifestation with the highest incidence in this study and was among the 5 most common general man...
