The study was carried out in the Chapra Puerto Pijuayal community, with the purpose of identifying and analyzing the traditional knowledge and practices used for the environmental management of access to water resources. It is a non-experimental quantitative research of the exploratory type - descriptive, analytical, transversal. The primary information was collected with a structured survey with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability level of 0.801, applied to the population who can communicate in Spanish and indigenous leaders of the Chapra Autonomous Government.
