The Peruvian anchovy (Engraulis ringens) fishery has exhibited large fluctuations that are mainly associated with the high climatic variability that occurs in the Humboldt Current System and the occurrence of ENSO events. Likewise, the fishery management have had strong implications in these fluctuations. Currently, daily landings within each fishing season are used as an indicator for the management of this fishery. However, there is not studies about the variability and behavior of the landings during the different environmental and management scenarios present in the fishing seasons.
