Since 1984, Trujillo recorded the highest incidence rates of cervical cancer in Peru. This situation was reason to be conducted this retrospective study in samples from patients with the diagnosis of mild, moderate and severe dysplasia, carcinoma in situ and invasive carcinoma of the cervix, dividing them into three groups: squamous intraepithelial lesion of low grade, high grade and invasive carcinoma. This study was carried out with the infrastructure resources available in the services of Gynecology and Pathology of Belen Hospital and Laboratory of Molecular Biology, of Tropical Medicine Institute at the UNT, where were carried out the polymerase chain reaction testing and the run gel electrophoresis SSCP (single-strand conformational polymorphism). Objetivo: Determinar si el tipo morfológico de apendicitis está asociado con el tipo de obstrucción apendicular. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, observacional y prospectivo en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo, durante el año 2013. Resultados: Formaron parte del estudio 398 casos. El 54% de los pacientes tuvo entre 10 y 29 años. El 55,5% fueron de sexo masculino y el 44,5% de sexo femenino. La longitud promedio del apéndice fue 7,19 ± 1,6 y el diámetro 1,14 ± 0,5 cm. Los apéndices cecales con diámetro menor a 0,8 cm, no presentaron inflamación aguda. El 16,2% de los apéndices estuvieron perforados. En el 43% se evidencio una obstrucción en la luz apendicular, que en el 56,3% correspondió a la presencia de un bolo fecal, en un 29,9% a acodamiento del apéndice cecal y 4,8% a fecalito. Objective: To determine if an association hypercholesterolemia and cholesterolosis or gallbladder lithiasis does exist. Methods: A case series study was conducted between January 2014 and December 2015 in Hospital Belén, Trujillo-Perú. Patients were those in whom a cholecystectomy had been performed (1069) and a lipid profile was available (143). Results: Age range was 17-95 years with a mean age of 50; 36 (25.2%) had cholesterolosis, male to female ratio was 1:2,6 and a mean age of 44,5. Gallbladder lithiasis was found in 119 cases (83.2%), male to female ratio is 1:3.1 and a mean age of 48. Hypercholesterolemia (≥ 200 mg/dl) was found in 51 cases (35.7%); 29 (20,3%) cholesterolosis with gallbladder lithiasis and 7 (4.9%) had acalculous cholesterolosis.
