The present article develops basic concepts on immunizations, taking into account fundamental aspects of immunity, pertinent definitions, the importance of an intact cold chain, techniques for vaccine administration, as well as events associated with vaccines and different vaccination schemes. It also includes a vaccination schedule, which might be considered the present ideal schedule. Vaccines are humanity’s best medical achievement, because they prevent illnesses before they happen. El personal de salud que atiende población pediátrica está en continuo riesgo de presentar Síndrome de Burnout (SBO). Objetivos: Determinar la frecuencia del SBO y los niveles de sus dimensiones en los trabajadores del Servicio de Emergencia Pediátrica del Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal, en todos los trabajadores del Servicio de Emergencia de Pediatría del Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia durante los meses de febrero y marzo del año 2014. Se utilizó el instrumento Maslach Burnout Inventory-HS traducido y validado al español. Resultados: Participaron 54 trabajadores entre médicos (25), enfermeras (16) y técnicos de enfermería (13).
