The purpose of this doctoral research is to offer a detailed classification of the Peruvian fantastic double. For this purpose, a corpus composed of narratives by Clemente Palma, José B. Adolph and Carlos Calderón Fajardo has been chosen. Authors chosen because: they are representative figures of Peruvian fantastic literature; being considered insular –whose works have been little studied until today–; and, for representing three different periods of non-mimetic narrative in the country (Palma's work is set in the early years of the 20th century, Adolph's work –his most important work– in the 60s and 70s of the same century and that of Calderón Fajardo in the early years of the 21st century). La obra literaria del escritor argentino Ernesto Sabato, correspondiente a la segunda mitad del siglo veinte, abarca dos géneros fundamentales: el narrativo y el ensayístico. El motivo de lo siniestro y lo demoníaco es central en la literatura sabatiana y está presente en la mayoría de sus libros. Si bien en sus ensayos –que corresponden al groso de su obra– lo siniestro es preponderante, es en sus narraciones donde aparece con todo esplendor y de distintas maneras y perspectivas. El presente trabajo, así, buscará, en primer lugar, acercar al lector un poco más sobre este vasto y complejo concepto de lo siniestro, para, posteriormente, buscar, detectar y analizar la presencia de lo ominoso en las dos últimas novelas de Sabato: Sobre héroes y tumbas y Abaddón el exterminador.
