In this paper we realize the discovery and analysis of a lithic axes development workshop in Lower Huallaga, in Ushpapangal site, which is perhaps the first lithic workshop specialized in this type of device reported to date in the Peruvian Amazon. Emphasis is placed on the technological aspects of the production and the economic and social implications of their exchange, in an interregional perspective.

The state of Tawantinsuyu got to include in its maximum expansion, almost the entire territory of the Andes. To achieve this magnificent expansion had to absorb the different sociopolitical entities occupying the Andes at different latitudes. This situation was made possible by implementing a series of political domination strategies, applied according to the socio cultural reality of each. This article presents the diagnosis of a case of bone cancer in a human individual from the Chancay culture recovered in the funeral area of Cerro Colorado, southern end of the valley of Huaura. Cerro Colorado is a vast archaeological complex consisting of several sectors among which: the Tambo Tawantinsuyu, the walled sector and extensive funerary area, occupied now many human settlements and housing associations.

This article presents the characteristics of the sites associated with pictographs or quillqas funeral chullpas type structures that exist in the jurisdiction of the people and Rural Community Yamor in the district of Antonio Raymondi. These quillqas were drawn on the walls of large rocky cliffs, at different heights relative to the surface, painted with oxide of iron in large amounts around Yamor.

The upper basin of the river Chancay-Huaral, Atavillos occupied by the pre-Hispanic culture in late periods, is an almost unknown territory, despite the existence of numerous settlements of great importance as Rupac, Chiprac, Añay, Cachirmarca, among others. San Miguel de Vichaycocha farming community is the highest altitude in the basin, bordering the province of Huayllay via Antajirca Range area where interactions between Atavillos and other peoples as Chinchaycocha, Yaros, etc. were performed In the area of this community there are numerous settlements Atavillos, the most important of Purunmarca, where research with excavations of the 2014 season helped identify areas of multiple activity, as well as the characteristics of the funerary contexts.

The characteristics of a funerary context of the Middle Horizon recovered from the funerary complex of Cerro Colorado, at the southern end of the valley of Huaura is presented. Between 2014 and 2015 the Archaeological Research Project Chancay-Huaral-Atavillos, managed to dig more than 2,000 funerary contexts of this vast funerary complex, the largest in Peru’s central coast.

The results of archaeological research carried out in the archaeological complex of Rupac, the most monumental site in the Lima region, but until now one of the most unknown is presented. Rupac has a continuous occupation in the late pre-Hispanic period, defined by the development of culture in its independent Atavillos stage (Late Intermediate) and under the rule of Tawantinsuyu (Late Horizon). Rupac dominates the Kullpi, funeral mausoleums buildings by way of a tripartite organization, within which and around conducting activities in honor of the ancestors type architecture.

Se presentan los resultados de las investigaciones con excavaciones en el sitio arqueológico Castillo de Pasamayo, un sitio caracterizado por presentar tres murallas circundantes. En los últimos años se ha identificado en los valles de Chancay y Huaura numerosos sitios de estas características, por lo que la información que presentamos aporta a la comprensión del patrón espacial, constructivo y funcionalidad.

We present the results of investigations carried out in early2009 at the archaeological site of Cerro Macatón, one of the most important sites in the lower valley of the river Chancay-Huaral. This site, consisting of a large funeral with a sector area with residential architecture has been the most extensive area of valley funeral. Excavations allowed us to identify several funerary contexts in which the recurrence was the placement of individuals with in bales, which is an opportunity to know their characteristics.

We present the results of the research conducted in the middle basin of the Mayo river, Moyobamba district, department of San Martin. Its a region that has had different cultural periods socio-political developments in other Andean and Amazonian. Its location between the department of Amazonas and the Amazon low (Tarapoto and Loreto), has been a point of transit in the interactions occurring between the two regions, amalgamated by a complex trade network. From research conducted in 2008 and 2009 identified a total of 25 archaeological sites, sites composed mostly of ceramic dispersion and small enclosures oval plan of Andean influence. The results of these investigations show a greater approach to understanding societies that inhabited these lands before the Spanish invasion.

Nació en Ilo (Moquegua) el 8 de febrero de 1891. Cursó estudios primarios y secundarios en el Cuzco, en cuya Universidad se graduó de Doctor en Filosofía, Letras, Historia y Derecho y concluyó estudios en Ciencias Económicas. Ingresó a la docencia en 1911 en el Colegio Nacional de Ciencias de aquella ciudad y en 1917 en su Universidad, como catedrá- tico de Historia del Perú e Historia del Perú Antiguo en la Facultad de Letras de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, en donde enseñó, además, desde 1946, Historia del a Cultura Peruana e Introducción a la Etnología.
