This article analyzes the improvement of state institutional quality as a determinant of China’s economic success, achieved through the accomplishment of intermediate economic goals. Conventional wisdom that market forces are the sole determinant of liberalization cannot fully explain the Chinese economic boom. With the aim of catching up with developed countries, China has steadily enacted reforms, with slight emphasis on political reforms and continual, aggressive emphasis on concurrent economic ones. Through this combination of state designs and strategies, China has achieved the intermediate goals necessary to sustain the fast and stable rates of economic growth observed in recent decades. The article reaffirms the positive effects of immigration in the long term, however, with the intention of emphasizing the problems that arise in the short term, regarding the recent Venezuelan immigration in Peru. These problems derive due to the characteristics of the economy, as well as the nature of a large informal sector or the deficit of physical capital and public infrastructure. It is worth to note that the duration of these problems will depend on the quality of the public policies that will be implemented to achieve the benefits of immigration. Finally, some policy recommendations are proposed.

El artículo reafirma los efectos positivos de la inmigración en las economías de destino en el largo plazo, sin embargo, pretende explicar los problemas que se presentan en el corto plazo, a propósito de la reciente inmigración venezolana en el Perú. Estos problemas se derivan de las características de la economía peruana como la presencia de un amplio sector informal o el déficit de capital físico e infraestructura pública. Asimismo, la duración de estos problemas dependerá de la calidad de las políticas públicas que se implementen para alcanzar los beneficios de la inmigración. Finalmente, se propone algunas recomendaciones de políticas.

The main objective of this article is to identify the factors explaining disparities in GDP per capita between Latin American economies and the economy of China, particularly considering the remarkable economic growth of the latter contrasted with the stagnation experienced by Latin American countries, which are trapped in what is known as the "middle-income trap." To achieve this objective, an econometric model is employed using the panel data method, primarily utilizing development indicators available in the World Bank database. The results obtained reveal that institutional quality constitutes a determining factor in the economic disparities between the mentioned economies, highlighting the institutional improvements observed in China in recent years. The purpose of this study is to examine trends in Chinese investment within the context of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and to recognize the opportunities that arise for Latin America. To this end, the literature summarizing the relations between these two economies was compiled. In addition, various sources of information were used to evaluate Chinese projects in different regions and compare them with those in Latin America. The results confirm China's strong dynamism, although recently softened by greater adversity to irrigation. At the same time, there is an important momentum with some large investments in the region, especially in South America. It is concluded that the region has favorable conditions to capitalize on the opportunities generated by the IFR.

This research aims to analyze to what extent associativity will allow small Peruvian farmers to enter, grow and maintain themselves in the international market. For this we focus on the Cajamarca region; for being one of the recent leaders in terms of organic coffee exports due to the coffee associations that have been formed. To measure the impact of associativity on exports, a logistic regression model is employed, having as a source of information the IV National Agricultural Census; which allows to construct all the mentioned variables. The results are robust and confirm the hypothesis of this research.
