The paper discusses the development of cybercampaigns in America Latina inside the political and democratic transformations during the recent decades, as well as the dawn of socialization using telecommunications and new informational technologies which has been observed in the region. We analyze the case of six countries of the region (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela) that are using telecommunications and the new informational technologies as part of central strategies in political campaigns. It also discussed the potentials and limits of such campaigns. We conclude that cybercampaigns in Latin America are consolidated: their development advances in giant steps. However, this type of campaigns has its limitations for achieve its objectives, due to the low-educated electorate, disappointed in political class.

The essay makes a description of the strategical role the play public relations during electoral campaigns. In the beginning, the essay conceptualizes public relations and its connection with political campaigns. It is argued that make an electoral campaign imply a public relation activity with the objective of knowing the voters and make up different political strategies to get their votes and, consequently, avoid the opposition can win the political power. It is concluded that the successful in a political campaigns depends on the creative, intelligent and innovative use of public relations.

En este trabajo los autores analizan el uso del color en las estrategias de persuasión política que utilizan los partidos y los candidatos durante los procesos electorales. También se describe la utilización que los principales partidos políticos de México hacen de los colores para lograr un posicionamiento y una diferenciación política. Específicamente, se indaga sobre el uso del color en los XVI Juegos Panamericanos celebrados en Guadalajara en octubre del 2011. Por ejemplo, se señala que el azul fue el color preponderante en la decoración de las instalaciones deportivas, los hoteles de la ciudad, los automóviles oficiales y en la publicidad del evento, lo que formaba parte de una estrategia ante las próximas elecciones federales del 2012.

The essay analyzes the communication strategies used by Barack Obama in order to win the democratic nomination to the presidency of the Unites States and the strategies used by republicans and democrats in the constitutional election in 2008. It is concluded that Obama won the presidential nomination be cause he was the candidate more competitive in communicate with voters. His elevated communication competences, his excellent organization and mobilization strategies of voters and the creativity of his campaign allowed him to defeat to Hillary Clinton’ electoral machinery
