For the following research an expert system to evaluate investigation capacities in professors of the National University of San Martin has been developed. In order to achieve procedures that permits the investigation competences evaluation. Rules and conditional controls were developed; these are joined cognitive and attitudinal elements from the professionals. All of this has been possible by the methodological principles of knowledge engineering and the artificial intelligence letting us develop application for expert task applying.
