Medicinal plants represent an important source of bioactive compounds with therapeutic potential, including phenolics, which are well known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Phlebodium decumanum, an epiphytic fern native to the tropical regions of the Americas, has been traditionally used in folk medicine for its presumed health benefits; however, scientific evidence supporting its pharmacological properties remains limited. This study aimed to quantify the total phenolic content and evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of extracts obtained from different organs of P. decumanum. Ethanolic extractions were performed, and the content of phenolic compounds, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and catechins was determined using UV-Vis spectrophotometric techniques.
