Overweight and obesity lead the occurrence of comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, anddyslipidemias. Objectives: To determine the presence of cardiovascular risk in children and adolescents overweight and obese,by gender and age groups. Design: Cross sectional study. Participants: Children and adolescents of both genders, 5-18 year-old.Interventions: Diagnosis of overweight and obesity was done according to Must et al. classification with the following criteria: 85 to 95for overweight and more than 95 percentile for obesity.
