This study was carried out in aguajales in the communities of Auca Poza, Miraflores and Salvador belonging to the Mazán district, Loreto region and Maynas province, Peru, from August to December 2019. Some aspects of reproduction and production were investigated of Rhynchophorus palmarum on male stipes of Mauritia flexuosa “aguaje”. In each aguajal studied, eleven male “aguaje” stipes were thinned, ten underwent lateral sections from the apex to the base (A and B: near the apex C and D: near the base), where bait of cassava masato and one was left intact, for the control sample. The observations were rigorous, even so, no copulation of Rhynchophorus palmarum was observed during the daytime. 14 to 73 eggs / stipe were recorded, only in sections A and B.
