The aim of this study was to analyses the inventory management of a company that imports power transmission spare parts. The study was of the applied type, with a non-experimental design, descriptive scope, and quantitative approach. A company importing its products from China was taken as a case study. Deterministic and stochastic scenarios were evaluated in comparison with the company’s current scenario and methods related to each scenario were applied, also considering the behavior of demand, and analyzing the models with forecasts of these. It was concluded that the stochastic method, specifically the (S, T) model, has proved to be more profitable compared to the current scenario and the deterministic one, mainly due to the reduction of shortages and the homogeneity in the behavior of the inventory.

This study aimed to evaluate an inventory policy for high-turnover medical supplies in tertiary healthcare centers located in areas with difficult access. The research was applied in nature, featuring a non-experimental design, descriptive scope, and quantitative approach. A clinic in the municipality of Leticia, a region in Colombia known for its challenging access, was selected as the case study. Stochastic scenarios were assessed in comparison with the clinic’s current context, utilizing the stochastic (S, T) method as it met the necessary characteristics for the healthcare center. The results concluded that this method significantly optimizes costs, primarily due to variations in policy parameters such as economic order quantity, order frequency, safety stock, and service satisfaction levels.

The objective of this study was to develop an aggregated planning for the transportation of personnel and material in a hydrocarbon sector company, using a company located in Peru as a case study. In the analysis, two key strategies were evaluated: chasing and leveling, applied to different modes of transportation, such as fixed wing, rotary wing, river and land. Through this analysis, it was observed that the chasing strategy proved to be the most appropriate for the company, since it not only presents lower operating costs compared to the leveling strategy but also allows them to meet the monthly demand accurately, which facilitates effective planning for the next year, based on the results obtained from the aggregate planning.
