La educación contemporánea, basada en los redescubrimientos psicológicos (Vygotsky, Freud) y de la filosofía de la mente (Wittgenstein, Austin) revalora el papel fundamental de lo social en la formación de la mente del ser humano. En este artículo, nos centramos en dos puntos. Primero, en cómo podemos concebir el Foro de Discusión como una herramienta educativa (parte del grupo de las herramientas de Internet al servicio de la educación) dentro del marco de la comunicación, como uno de los mecanismos por los cuales los seres humanos construyen un espacio intersubjetivo en común. El segundo punto es la presentación de una propuesta de criterios (interactividad, cooperación dialógica y calidad argumentativa) que permitan evaluar si esta herramienta educativa permite desarrollar un espacio intersubjetivo que ayude a mejorar las condiciones del diálogo y la convivencia.
