A new record of Clinopodium weberbaueri (Mansf.) Grovaerts “runtuwayra” specimens for the Andahuaylas Province of Peru are registered and presented. These specimens were collected in the Distrito of Pacucha, Provincia of Andahuaylas (2926 m.s.n.m.), Apurímac region (2900 m.s.n.m.). Previews records of this specie in this area no were reported, so these specimens expands the knowledge about its geographical distribution of this specie into the Peruvian southern Andean area.

Un nuevo registro de la especie Clinopodium weberbaueri (Mansf.) Grovaerts “runtuwayra” para la Provincia de Andahuaylas es presentada. Los ejemplares fueron recolectados en el distrito de Pacucha, Provinvia de Andahuayas en la región Apurímac. Considerando que no se han reportado registros previos de la especie en esta área, este hallazgo, en consecuencia, amplía el conocimiento sobre la distribución geográfica de la especie en esta parte andina del sur del Perú.

El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la actividad antibacteriana in vitro del aceite esencial de Clinopodium weberbaueri “Runtuwayra”, frente a la supervivencia de cepas de Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 y Salmonella typhi procedentes del Instituto Nacional de Salud (INS). Se obtuvo el aceite esencial de las hojas y talluelos de la runtuwayra, por arrastre de vapor de agua, el aceite esencial puro se diluyó en alcohol etílico de 70º a 50% y 25%; y fueron comparadas con Sulfametoxazol más Trimetoprim como control (+) y alcohol etílico al 70º, como control (-); para realizar pruebas de sensibilidad in vitro mediante el método de Difusión en Agar con Discos.
