α-Glucosidase inhibitors are agents of therapeutic interest because they can contribute to reducing intestinal glucose absorption and, therefore, reduce hyperglycemia in pathological conditions such as diabetes. In this investigation, the inhibitory activity was determined in ethanolic extracts of Solanum sessiliflorum Dunal (cocona) and Capsicum annuum L. (aji dulce) on α-glucosidase, evaluated at 100, 250, 500 and 1000 µg/mL, the species being selected and collected for convenience in the Fernando Lores district (198°S 4°0'6” S 73°9'38” O).
