The complex Au(tht)Br (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) was obtained by reaction of HAuBr4 and tht. This complex was characterized by 1H-RMN, FT-IR and elemental analysis. The stability of this complex is not very good and is degraded very fast by light.

Poly(vinyl alcohol), PVA, Quitosano-PVA y Quitosano-PVA films doped with TiO2 have been prepared and their antimicrobial properties against S. aureus, E. coli and P aeruginosa have been evaluaied. These films do not have activity to those rnicroorganisms, but they are an effective barrier. These properties make them attractive materials for wound-healing applications and food packaging.

Currently, photodynamic therapy is one of the most promising for the treatment of cancer treatments. This article describes the basic principles of this therapy are explained and a review of the main types of existing photosensitizers currently is performed, with emphasis on those derived from porphyrins and phthalocyanines.

The preparation of an oligomeric complex obtained from the reaction of 1,1'-bis(octadecyl)-2,2'-benzimidazole and CoCl2 is reportad. This oligómero has been characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, FT-IR and 1 H-RMN. The elemental analysis does not throw a defined relation between cobalt and the ligand. The oligomeric complex undergoes decomposition when heating according to ose analysis.
