It is interesting to observe how technological development has allowed to several organizations to use information technologies as tools, not only for improvements in operational efficiency, but also as support to achieve innovation and creating new opportunities. The aim of the study is to understand the priorities of information technologies management in Peruvian organizations. The study is considered a cross-sectional investigation with repeated measurements of 119 and 150 executives in the years 2010 and 2011 respectively. The sample was not random and a questionnaire to all participants applied online. Prior research (Rai et al, 2002; Seddon and Kiew, 1997) evaluates information systems in their role as information provider. In these, the impact of technology on individual performance is studied (utility of the system) and information quality and facility of the system are considered explanatory factors for utility. However, a system also fulfills the role of automating tasks, a role that is not recognized in the afore mentioned factors. Investigaciones previas (Rai et al, 2002; Seddon y Kiew, 1997), evalúan el sistema de información en su rol de proveedor de información. En ellas se estudia el impacto de la tecnología sobre el desempeño individual (utilidad del sistema) y consideran la calidad de la información y la facilidad del sistema como facto res explicativos de la utilidad.
