The objective of this research was to characterize the household solid waste generated in the Santo Tomás Native Community of the Punchana District in 2023. This is a quantitative research with a descriptive-non-experimental approach. Social, economic and environmental information has been obtained from 54 households through a survey; and the methodology of the Guide for the characterization of municipal solid waste of the Ministry of the Environment has been followed. The statistical program SSPS and Excel were used for data analysis.
