Objective. To explore the psychometric performance of the Parent-Caregiver Perceptions Questionnaire short-form in Mexican parents. Methods. Cross-sectional study performed in a sample of 214 participants. The content validity of the P-CPQ-16 and two alternative 14-item scales was examined using exploratory factor analysis. The goodness-of-fit measures of three models were calculated in the confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability measures (Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega) were calculated. Internal consistency and discriminant power were evaluated using Spearman’s coefficient and success percentages. Results. The P-CPQ-16 with four factors explained 57.88% of the variance. However, the items ‘slow eating’ and ‘shy or embarrassed’ were not satisfactory. The P-CPQ-14 three-factor scale explained 50.22% of the variance with better interpretability of the structure compa...

Objective: To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Mexican version of the Parental-Caregivers Perceptions Questionnaire. Materials and methods: A psychometric scale validation study developed in Poza Rica (Veracruz-México) that cross-culturally adapted the Parental-Caregivers Perceptions Questionnaire from Peruvian Spanish to Mexican slang. Face validity was evaluated through the judgment of experts who rated the clarity, relevance and importance of the questions. The sample was 241 parents and caregivers. Reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's Omega, internal consistency, and discriminant power using Spearman's correlation coefficient, and content validity was assessed using Exploratory Factor Analysis. Results: The scale showed an α=0.81 and ω=0.8. The matrix tests presented a Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin index=0.739 (p=0.001); Bartlett's test (p=0.001). Various...

Introduction: Hypersensitivity, altered dental appearance and fractures are common problems in molar incisor hypomineralization that generate functional and socio-emotional problems. Objective: to evaluate the effect of MIH on oral health-related quality of life in children and adolescents. Materials and methods: A systematic bibliographic search was carried out in electronic databases (Pubmed, Epistemonikos, Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source and Virtual Health Library). Observational studies in English or Spanish conducted between 2016-2022 that evaluated the quality of life of children and adolescents with molar incisor hypomineralization were identified. Results: Of 96 identified studies, thirteen were included in the synthesis. The most frequent diagnostic criterion for hypomineralization of molar incisors was the index of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and nine studi...
