The assessment evaluates aquatic ecosystems organisms known as Daphnia (water fleas), in the presence of pollutants that come from mining activity, by the applications of biotoxicological tests. The daphnias were chosen due to the fact, that they are very sensitive to contaminants and have an important role in aquatic ecosystems. They feed on smaller species and provide food for many fishes. The biotoxicological tests were applied in two particular cases, in both cases the Median Lethal Concentration (LC50) was obtained for daphnias in short tests (96 hours), using for this determination, the probit analysis curve. Determina la concentración a la que puede estar diluido el material de los componentes mineros polimetálicos, propensos a generar contaminación, sin que se alteren los ecosistemas cercanos, mediante la aplicación de ensayos biotoxicológicos. Se evaluó la Concentración Letal Media (CL50) en bioensayos de 96 horas, con alevinos de Carpa (Cyprinus Carpio), utilizado el material de 4 componentes mineros: relavera, desmontera, cancha de mineral y tajo abierto; determinándose que el componente más perjudicial fue la relavera, por presentar la CL50 más baja (CL50 = 1880 ppm), seguido de la cancha de mineral (CL50 = 3340 ppm), continúa el tajo abierto (CL50 = 5140 ppm) y por último a la desmontera (CL50 = 8080 ppm).
