Preeclampsia is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy that can affect between 4 and 8% of pregnancies, causing repercussions in both mothers and their children. Neonatal manifestations are usually associated with alterations in intrauterine growth and homeostasis in fetal life, during labor, in the neonatal stage or may also occur in the long term. Coagulation disorders in the neonate constitute a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge, since alterations in some of the components of coagulation associated with genetic or acquired risk factors can result in hemorrhagic or thromboembolic emergencies. Se realizó un trabajo de investigación, de casos y controles, analítico, retrospectivo, que incluyó 123 gestantes atendidas en el servicio de ginecología y obstetricia del Hospital Regional Docente De Trujillo y Hospital Belén De Trujillo en el periodo 2005-2015; los casos estuvieron conformados por 41 pacientes que presentaron acretismo placentario, y el grupo control constó por 82 gestantes que no presentaron acretismo placentario; en ambas poblaciones se evaluó la cirugía uterina previa como factor de riesgo para acretismo placentario. Se concluye que la cirugía uterina previa es un factor de riesgo asociado a acretismo placentario OR=3.4 (IC 95%: 1.4-7.8 p: 0.003) también el antecedente de cesárea (OR=3.4 IC 95%: 1.4-8.5 p=0.005) y el antecedente de miomectomía (OR= 7.16, IC 95%: 1.4-35.07 p= 0.017) son factores de riesgo.
