A descriptive basic study was performed with retrospective data collection, during the years of 1,989-1,993 at the San José del Callao Support Hospital. Of a total of 6,516 deliveries, 55 clinical records of patients with these pathologies were reviewed, in order to determine the gynecological-obstetric history and some aspects; · Epidemiological associated with placenta previa. After an analysis of the collected data the following conclusions were reached: the frequency; Of placenta previa is 0.84%, the most important factors associated with placenta previa were: age> 30 years old, multiparity and history of abortion. No case of mortality was recorded. The most frequent complication was anemia. Fetal mortality was of the order of 18.18%.
