Of so many problems that humanity must face, environmental degradation is one of them, which generates negative impacts at the local, national and global levels; Therefore, humanity has the responsibility to identify the causes and consequences of different environmental problems, in order to adopt appropriate actions that allow it to mitigate them. The main objective of this research is to investigate the level of knowledge on the subject of climate change among students who are completing regular basic education (EBR) of I.E. José Jaime Heredia Neyra and of I.E. Horacio Zeballos Gámez. The aim was both to corroborate the achievement of the requirements raised in the profile of the graduate of the National Curriculum of the EBR and to identify, through the results, the weaknesses and strengths of students in the area of Social Sciences, since, in them, everything related to environmental issues is studied. First, a test was applied on the contents related to climate, global warming, causes and consequences of climate change; then the information was processed; finally, discussions, conclusions and recommendations were presented.

La preocupación por los diferentes problemas ambientales generados por acción antrópica, entre ellos el calentamiento global, fue el motivo que me impulsó a desarrollar la presente investigación en los estudiantes que están finalizando el VII ciclo de la EBR en las II. EE. del sector público ubicadas en el distrito de San Buenaventura. Para ello se empleó una prueba y cuestionario como instrumentos de recolección de información, con el objetivo de determinar el conocimiento sobre el cambio climático y su relación con la conciencia ambiental.
