El artículo presenta una visión crítica pero alentadora de la terapia sistémica en Latinoamérica. Observa desde la historia de las primeras investigaciones sistémicas y sus protagonistas, hasta definir qué es la psicoterapia desde esta perspectiva. Recoge una serie de impresiones que se adentran en la terapia misma y en el rol del psicólogo sistémico, pero el análisis no queda reducido allí: se contextualiza en las diferentes realidades problemáticas que afectan a los países latinos. Entiende que la actuación del psicólogo como una figura activa en distintos escenarios sociales, culturales, económicos, de salud, entre otros y que representa un catalizador en la resolución de problemas psicosociales, un agente corrector de crisis, es decir, ángulos de desvío en términos cibernéticos.

The field of sport psychology is gaining ground, becoming more and more integrated in the world of sport in general and in the world of ultra trail running in particular. Although this sport is booming, little is known about the psychological characteristics of these athletes, who dare to challenge long distances in extremely hostile natural terrain and riddled with obstacles. These challenges can lead, under certain conditions, ultra trail runners to be immersed in stress processes that, if prolonged over time, can turn into distress and lead to more suffering than enjoyment for an activity that, in the beginning, was chosen to develop.
