El presente estudio se realizó con la finalidad de identificar las interacciones medicamentosas potenciales en las recetas médicas de los pacientes hospitalizados en el servicio de 13B UCI Neurocirugía del Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins, desde Julio - Setiembre 2007. Se recolectó la información revisando 938 recetas médicas de pacientes hospitalizados en dicho servicio, durante los meses en estudio; entre las 938 recetas médicas se encontró que 713 presentaron interacciones medicamentosas potenciales, lo cual representa el 76.01% del total. Las interacciones medicamentosas potenciales más frecuentes fueron: Ranitidina – Fenitoína (23.64%), Fenitoína – Paracetamol (8.66%), Fenitoína –Dexametasona (7.8%), Fenitoína – Omeprazol (6.1%).
