A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out during the month of February 2017 in children from 5 to 12 years of the hamlet of El Paraíso belonging to the Sierra Liberteña to analyze the population characteristics of risk and the types of intestinal parasites. Three serial samples of 134 children were collected and analyzed by direct method and spontaneous sedimentation; A survey was also carried out about risk factors for intestinal parasitosis such as age, degree of instruction of the proxy, type of housing floor, breeding of animals, water supply, elimination of excreta and garbage, hand washing, contact with soil, eat your nails, bring your fingers to your mouth, drink water and overcrowding.
