The objective of this study was to analyze the chemical composition and evaluate the antibacterial activity of ethanolic and chloroform extracts of leaves and rhizomes of Dryopteris filix-mas against different bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 15442, Salmonella typhimurium ATCC 14028 and Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 10541. The samples were collected for convenience and processed to obtain the extracts, the antibacterial activity was evaluated using the agar disk diffusion technique (Kirby-Bauer) and macrodilution, determining the minimum inhibitory and bactericidal concentration (MIC-MBC).
