The main objective of this work was to determine the relationship between the presence of parasites and the degree of anemia in pregnant women treated in health centers in the city of Iquitos, this research had a non-experimental cross-sectional design, the sample considered was 423 pregnant women from a previous study from 3 health centers in the city of Iquitos: Bellavista Nanay Health Center, I-2 Progreso Health Post and Belén Health Center, the coproparasitological method used for the identification of parasites was Kato Katz. OBJETIVO Determinar la eficacia del Albendazol en relación al Metronidazol en el tratamiento de Giardiasis en escolares de la Institución Educativa N° 61006 del Distrito de BelénIquitos, 2009. Materiales Y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio prospectivo, longitudinal, comparativo, abierto y aleatorio en la Institución Educativa N° 61006 Sara Alicia Saberbein del Distrito de Belén (IquitosPerú), desde Agosto a Diciembre del 2009. Se evaluaron 76 escolares de ambos sexos pertenecientes a esta Institución Educativa con diagnóstico de Giardiasis. Niños entre 5 y 14 años se seleccionaron si se demostraba Giardia duodenalis en el examen general de heces por el método directo con lugol.
