In this article, I propose to address the national configuration of the political right in Colombia based on the well-known analytical distinction elaborated by Raymond Williams of emergent, dominant, and residual. Therefore, it is not just about the new rights, but emergent rights that allow us to think about their articulations, distinctions, and tensions within a political field of forces that unfolds in specific national formations contexts. The first part of the article addresses some of the characteristics and contrasts that currently define the residual, dominant, and emergent rights in Colombia.
