Communication is a human right. Alternative augmentative communication systems are essential assistive technologies for full access for non-speaking autistic people. In this article we analyze the development of communication in autism and its main differences with neurotypical forms based on joint attention and shared intentionality. Transcending the logocentrism that dominates the "should be" of human communication, we can see in the alternative forms of communication and in the associated devices, systems of interaction as valid as orality. What is important is the functionality of the system in relation to the needs of each individual in the exercise of their right to communication.

The theory of electronality, born from literary and semiotic studies has been used since 2017 to understand the functioning of the autistic mind. This article updates concepts and terminology resulting from research and practice in daily work with autistic people in EITA - Peru. Autism is a life condition associated with an atypical neurodevelopment (neurotype) where talent is appreciated in the areas of information systematization, detailed processing and pattern search. Nutrition is a fundamental element in autistic people but not different from what it can be for the general population. Unscientific perspectives suggest that a special type of diet will "recover" the person from autism or that intervening on their microbiota will diminish their characteristics. This has its origin in “biomedical” positions that were born of frauds (such as Wakefield and vaccines) or beliefs derived from them. We now know that autism is not a disease but a life condition associated with atypical neurodevelopment. For this reason, there is no cure, although there are interventions and adjustments in the environment that can improve the quality of life for those autistic people who are in a situation of disability.
