La investigación científica es un factor fundamental para el desarrollo de las sociedades. Sin embargo, Perú es considerado como uno de los países con peor proyección científica de América del Sur. Son diversas las explicaciones a este fenómeno de la baja producción, de las cuales destaca el estudio de las actitudes hacia la investigación científica. Se realizó una investigación instrumental de la Escala de Actitudes hacia la Investigación Científica de Portocarrero y de la Cruz (2006). En el presente ensayo se desarrolla la formación investigativa en pregrado, para lo cual el documento se separa en dos partes, el primero atiende a dos aspectos: el estado actual de la formación investigativa en pregrado y la formación de investigadores en el pregrado, concluyen en esta primera parte que en la formación de pregrado no deben formarse investigadores, sino trabajar en las competencias para la investigación, y se enlistan siete características particulares en la formación investigativa, sintetizada en tener estudiantes desinteresados hacia la investigación científica y la falta de estrategias adecuadas por parte de las Universidades. La estadística se ha consolidado en uno de los pilares de la ciencia y del método científico, sin embargo, es una de las asignaturas, que genera mayor rechazo en los estudiantes. Esta investigación tuvo por objetivo analizar las propiedades psicométricas de dos escalas de actitudes hacia la estadística en estudiantes de psicología de una universidad particular de Tacna.
