La investigación se desarrolló mediante un tipo Básico de investigación, con diseños No experimental y transversal, bajo un criterio observacional. Se estableció como objetivo considerar el desarrollar un Modelo Estadístico de Competitividad y Sostenibilidad, que permita realizar tendencias, y propósitos de mediano plazo y evaluar el proceso de internacionalización del café y el cacao. Para ello se establecieron las interrelaciones de cuatro dimensiones fundamentales para la variable Modelo, que se consideran se relacionan de manera sistémica, y permiten asegurar la producción y servicios de calidad, beneficios económicos y sociales de los trabajadores de la Asociación en Satipo.
