Introduction: Dentists have increasingly focused on aesthetic treatments using HA, leading to a rise in associated complications and a greater need to understand its effects and management. Objective: To describe the different complications associated with the use of HA in non-surgical aesthetic procedures, as well as their management and prevention. Materials and Methods: We conducted an exploratory systematic review of existing literature on complications related to HA use in the facial area and their treatments during August 2023. PubMed, Ebsco, and Scopus were utilized for this purpose. Studies reporting complications and HA management were included, while in vitro, ex vivo, and animal studies were excluded. Objectives: Recurrence is one of the main complications associated with orthognathic surgery. For this reason, the aim of this study is to identify risk factors for recurrence in patients who have undergone orthognathic surgery. Materials and Methods: A literature review was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus during May 2025. Articles from the last 5 years were selected, excluding narrative reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, letters, opinion pieces, animal studies, or experimental models. Results: Out of 56 articles, 21 were removed due to duplication and 16 for not meeting eligibility criteria, resulting in 19 articles for final analysis. Among the risk factors mentioned in the literature, prominent contributors include positional changes at the temporomandibular joint, temporomandibular disorders associated with condylar morphological changes, tension and volumetr...

Objectives: Mandibular fractures in pediatric patients are relatively rare; however, understanding their characteristics enables early detection and appropriate referral, preventing complications and reducing costs for both public health and the patient. The objective of this research was to characterize pediatric mandibular fractures and their clinical management through a scoping review. Materials and Methods: The study was based on the Arksey and O’Malley method, verified using PRISMA-ScR. An electronic search for available evidence in English and Spanish was conducted in the scientific databases PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCO using the terms “mandible fracture” AND “pediatric.” Studies published between 2019 and 2024 were considered. Results: The search yielded 62 studies; duplicates were removed using the Rayyan artificial intelligence tool, resulting in 56 studies. After filte...
