El artículo pretende evidenciar las relaciones entre la sierra y la costa, las cuales son tan complejas y a veces tan conflictivas. Para analizar estas relaciones, se toma el uso de los tejidos como una herramienta de observación analítica de la complejidad cultural, social, económica y aún política. Así el algodón y la lana son la materia prima utilizada de forma diferenciada en los tejidos de ambas regiones. Esto se enmarca en la situación colonial, que se ha venido alimentado a lo largo de más de cinco siglos, como una aparente relación dicotómica costa/sierra, En suma se busca demostrar que esa oposición es un producto, una creación colonial. El artículo se enfoca en los jóvenes neo-rurales de la Costa Chica del Estado de Guerrero (México), se utiliza la manera en que ellos se autodenominan o identifican: morenos, costeños y negros. Grupos que siendo significativos estadísticamente, han estado parcialmente descuidados por la academia. Este estudio trata de entender las construcciones locales/regionales de las identidades juveniles neo-rurales, así como de los elementos internos y externos que influyen y modifican estas construcciones y expresiones diversas de lo juvenil en la región.

Acapulco and the region known as the Costa Chica of Guerrero, are some of the first places that we record on cultural diversity of human groups who settled there from the pre-Hispanic era. This phenomenon is accentuated with the arrival of the conquerors time when they make their appearance and authentic Spanish and mestizos, and the African people or their descendants, who were referred to as mulattoes and blacks lovos. In this article, we propose some analytical comments pointing the diverse composition of this region, taking as initial starting point a census of the population of Acapulco, it made the eighteenth century, in which the groups that lived at that time are recorded, including the dominators (Spaniards and mestizos), to-population and called Indians- origen poblation –and called Chinese, it was the meaning that was given to those who came basically from the Philippines. In this article I am interested in presenting some comparative approaches on salt and its traditional artisanal production in Mexico and Peru, from ethnohistory and certain mythical constructions, taking as analytical ethnographic spaces Costa Chica in Guerrero and Colán on the northern coast of the department of Piura. In both cases the importance of this precious item gives us insights on the various economic, social, political and symbolic uses attributed to salt.

This article presents preliminary advances from a survey of the backstrap loom´s components names, currently in use in three highlands provinces of La Libertad: Otuzco, Santiago de Chuco and Sánchez Carrión; part of the consensual area of the culle language, belonging to the colonial bishopric of Trujillo. It begins with a brief discussion on the role of textiles in the Andean world, and the analytical categories such as discontinuous territorialities and cultural configurations, which allow us to understand the processes of textile production in this area. Added to a brief socio-demographic description of the region and provinces of study.
