This article studies the role of Huamanga women in the Peruvian war of independence. Through documents from regional and national archives, we propose that women contributed when they supported the libertarian and royalist forces. With their economic contributions and direction of the productive activities they sustained the war, allowed the participation of their relatives in the warlike conflicts and spread the messages until the triumph of Simón Bolívar in the battle of Ayacucho (1824).
