This article analyzes land use planning as an instrument that contributes to planning for the conservation of the biodiversity of the Verde River sub-basin, located between the departments of Amazonas and San Martín. From primary and secondary sources from the qualitative approach with techniques of geographic information systems and interviews, it was possible to establish areas with priority for conservation in a process of territorial ordering in favor of biodiversity in the sub-basin of the Verde River, these being the headwaters of the Corazón river basin (11,085.50 ha), left bank of the Chilchos river (21,918.90 ha) and headwaters of the Sinai river (2,322.75 ha).

Analiza la planificación territorial en la conservación de la biodiversidad en la subcuenca del rio Verde, cuenca del rio Huayabamba en los departamentos de San Martín y Amazonas. This article proposes a design for a district location map that aligns with the political division of Peru. To achieve this, an exhaustive review of maps present in management plans, scientific articles, theses and other relevant documents was carried out. ArcGis 10.8 software was the primary tool used in creating the design. The main conclusion is that the design of the district location map must include secondary maps on the right side, showing the departmental, provincial and district levels. In addition, it is essential that the map contains basic elements such as the compass rose or the north arrow, the graphic scale and the reference system in UTM or geographic coordinates.
